Már a gyártósoron pörög a legsúlyosabb magyar jazz funk / brazil fúziós számokat felölelő válogatásunk és ez nagy megkönnyebbülés, hiszen évek óta dolgozunk ezen a projekten. A londoni Cosmic Sounds kiadó gondozásában tehát hamarosan CD-n és LP-n is beszerezhetőek a főként az 1970-es évekböl származó hazai gyöngyszemek.

A Cosmic Sounds magyar jazz sorozatának első darabja a hatvanas évek modális jazzére épül és a Les Gammas, 7 Samurai és Panoptikum projektekből ismerős Tom Wieland (aki a kedvenc DJ-nk) válogatta:

A Cosmic Sounds kiadó egyébként is úttörő szerepet vállalt és nem kis mennyiségű munkát és pénzt ölt a kelet-európai jazz ritkaságok újrakiadásába, úgyhogy tessék csak a kiadót vezető Zeljko Kerleta urat támogatni a hanghordozók megvásárlásával. Rágjátok a helyi lemezboltosok fülét, hogy behozzák az árut, vagy rendeljétek meg közvetlenül a Cosmic Soundstól.
Évek kitartó lemeztúró munkáját spórolhatjátok meg így.

During the relatively short time I spent on US crate digging forums like soulstrut's I got the impression that most of the collectors think that Hungarian psych (early Bergendy, Zalatnay, Omega, early Hungaria) is the ish. Maybe they just had no one to introduce them to our jazz funk / funk rock era, so that's why they're so hapy with tracks that have the obscure 4 second drum break but turn unberable once the psyched group members start singing or messing around on the guitar. Check this compilation of dope Hungarian jazz funk fusion from the 70's put together by my man, brother Keyser and me, that is just getting pressed up on CD and vinyl. We have been working on realizing this project for years, and now it's happening finally, so you better grab your copies and listen:

But if you browse their catalogue on the website (with a lot of sample mp3s) you can get a pretty good education in all that is fine and raer in East European jazz.
The Cosmic Sounds label did an incredible job in reissuing and compiling mega-rare East European jazz in the last 5 years, although they barely survive on this declining market. Label head Zeljko Kerleta has done an excellent and extremely hard work until now and definitely is in need of support. He also sells some of the hard-to-find (Polish, Hungarian, ex-Yugoslavian, Czech, Russian, etc.) original LPs if anyone would happen to be into actually owning dusty old records.
I think you get the best deals on CS releases (plus best support Mr. Kerleta) if you order from him directly, but Dusty Groove also carries his stuff.
